SILENT CIVILIAN To Release New Album In October

April 3, 2009

Despite tearing up stages across the country on the second stage of Music As A Weapon IV with his band SPINESHANK, vocalist Jonny Santos is still hard at work on the upcoming CD from SILENT CIVILIAN. The band is already planning an October release for its next record, titled "Ghost Stories", which will be made available on Mediaskare. A track from the album, "The Last One Standing", is available for streaming on the SILENT CIVILIANMySpace page.

Santos comments: "'The Last One Standing' is, to me, the best representation of what is to come from the next record. I feel it has all the elements of what SILENT CIVILIAN is, but also shows where the band is going. It has all the elements needed to be a great S.C. song, but also shows a maturity in the songwriting dept. Lyrically it is an anthem for individuality. Basically it's a song against anyone who is being controlled by anything — a song that promotes free thinking and non-conformity."

He adds, "The record as a whole is very diverse in the sense that the whole band contributed to the writing process this time around, instead of it primarily being Chris [Mora, drums] and I, like on the last record. I feel that we have got through our growing pains, and the fans will hear that on 'Ghost Stories'. This record has more of a raw, unpolished vibe to it. I feel it has a very 'dangerous' vibe to it, for lack of a better term. It seems like this band only does well under stress and pressure, or flying by the seat of our pants in the face of adversity, and I wanted to capture that feeling in the song writing this time around. It is a brutal record, and that's the bottom line. It will kick your face in repeatedly and that's what SILENT CIVILIAN is all about. We are looking forward to being back on tour and seeing our fans again this summer, and we can't wait to put this record out!!!"

After Music As A Weapon wraps, expect to see SILENT CIVILIAN on the road throughout the summer to promote "Ghost Stories". For now, catch Jonny on the road with SPINESHANK on the Ernie Ball Second Stage of Music As A Weapon IV alongside SUICIDE SILENCE, BURY YOUR DEAD, CROOKED X, AFTER THE BURIAL and BORN OF OSIRIS.
